Antique Ottoman Turkish-Armeni
This copper ware is typical of the eastern and central Anatolian villages. The hand beaten metal work reflects traditional village design from the eastern plateau area. The copper ware often features simple, decorative pattern work and handles are made from iron or brass. This style of utilitarian-ware (mugs, ewers, trays, jugs, ladles, frypans and platters ) was used for food preparation and each piece was originally lined with tin to protect the user. Traces of the original tinning will remain inside and outside of the vessel...
Old copper ware is becoming scarce. Like most authentic collectibles, each piece will continue to increase in value.
The restoration process, which includes repairing, stripping and buffing brings each piece back to its original shape. The end result of the restoration process is a beautiful piece of copper, which retains all of its historical and aesthetic charm. Whilst old copper pieces are restored to their original shape, they are not usable cookware and should be utilized as decorative pieces only.
